COMMUNITY PROJECTS

ALLOY Symposium
Housing Coordinator and Volunteer
ALLOY was an intercollegiate symposium created and hosted by UMass Dartmouth Jewelry and Metalsmithing students to develop a conversation that investigates the boundaries and intersections between the terms metalsmith, maker, artist and craftsman. Sculptors, metal fabricators, jewelers and metalsmiths from throughout the region were invited. Approximately 100 students and professionals attended.

The FOLD Project
Co-Creator, Origami Night at the New Bedford Whaling Museum
Presented during New Bedford's December AHA! Night, the project featured a screening of the documentary, Between the Folds, and demonstrations on folding origami whales. Origami Night was well attended by people of all ages.

Radical Jewelry Makeover IV - Penland School of Crafts; II - Lancaster, PA
Assistant and Participant
RJM is a traveling community jewelry mining and recycling project created by Ethical Metalsmiths. This project asks communities to donate broken and unwanted jewelry for jewelers and jewelry students to remake. Exhibitions of the recycled jewelry serve to educate on mining practices and material supply chains, asking jewelry consumers and makers to buy ethically sourced and environmentally conscious materials.
