The Hand &
Many of the pieces I make are objects meant to be explored by being handled, touched, and turned over in your hands. My objects need that environment, that place for interaction because touch brings a sense of understanding. Mine aren't the only objects that need to be grasped in that way, though, and I began documenting objects I came into contact with. Objects old and familiar, fleeting and ephemeral, to be consumed, kept, or given away. In part, this documentation is a method of bringing attention to those qualities of objects that may be in our hands for only a brief period of time. But there is something more that continually draws me to the hand and what it holds. Until I am better able to identify what that something might be, I will continue to document and share The Hand &:
